Diff is more aggressive lockup which can be adjusted with shims, other have said it gives awesome traction but I can't confirm that until I've used it! Hopefully be more reliable too. Downside is the grating \ chuntering noises like a GT3 Cup diff.
Final drive is for better acceleration at the expense of low geared crusing and a little bit of top end. Standard is 3.6 which gives a geared top speed of 206 in 6th which will never be reached anyway, with the 4.1 final drive 6th gear will hit 8200 rpm at 181 mph which might just be reachable. downside is 4.5k rpm at 100mph cruise. circa 10% more torque at the wheels so hopefully a similar improvement in acceleration... |

Ahhh all types of M3, it all makes sense now....did wonder how the organisers manage to get 20 to 30 CSL's with only 422 produced over here.

I would be very interested in going to watch.
When the calender of races is produced, maybe we should arrange a CSLregister stand at one (maybe more) race? Be a great meet for members on here for next year. Maybe even work with the organisers and have a parade lap? The CSL's that are racing, need a cslregister sticker on them at the very least!

Is there an outline schedule of circuits/dates availible now?
Or does anyone know when this is going to be coming out?

True .. it will def be interesting to watch with all different classes in , and a good driver in std could be better than a pants driver in the modded

Nathan your (im)patience will soon be rewarded, would you rather we rushed it and got it wrong or were deliberate and got it right?
You question over a diff is an interesting one, as you say its use for the road is completely absurd (have you actually driven one on the road - its nigh on unuseable) but maybe an interesting one for the modified class. Its completely out for the stock class of course. One thing to remember when modding a car to go racing, if you just accept all the things told you by your tuner/team you will simply hand them money for no reason (other than putting their kids through college), it is better to choose a race series to compete in an then build accordingly, never really works (for the owner) the other way round, trust me. It maywell be that diffs will be banned from modified class, I'm not sure, in which case you might as well carry on and spend another £30-40k and get it to GTR spec and run it in VLN, Britcar etc and thats great if thats what you want to race in, but if you want sprint races then I'd hold off just for the moment (just my opinion of course) |

I'd rather you got it right obviously, and I'd love to be there, even if it is just being slow in the modified class. Just getting impatient with having parts sat waiting to fit :D
I'm aware it'll be noisy on the road, am getting a slow, boring, sensible, practical car for daily duty. |
