Reading the Ad http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3652074.htm it's been serviced by Murketts BMW for the past 5 years which is excellent news as they were (until very recently) THE place to look after your CSL, under the wings of Andy Pressland (RIP) and worked on by Gareth who's now @ Elms BMW Cambridge (the New Murketts). If you ask nicely I'm sure Gareth will give you an honest, unbiased opinion of this particular car as he probably knows it inside out.

Brilliant! Thanks for the info. I don't mind mild track use, but i don't want one that's had the nuts ragged out of it all it's life.

Whats also concerned me is him denying he's ever done track days. It doesnt bother me if he has thats what they are designed for, but why lie. The brakes, nurburgring stickers and paddles all point to someone who likes a track day or 2, but why not just say?

BMW warranty (& therefore full history), subframe done, front end respray & wheel refurb & full options - thats 20k all day long.

Well, I've tried to contact the seller to arrange an inspection including bore scope and leak down test but surprise surprise all of a sudden no response. The search continues, time to up the budget me thinks

In response to this.... I can 100% guarantee that the car has never seen a track under my ownership. I drive a couple of race cars, so I've never had any desire to put my road car on the track.

As far as the nurburg sticker and AP brakes go - these were on the car when I bought it, so the only mod I have done myself are the paddles, which I think have a much better feel than standard. I still have the OEM ones, which will obviously be included.

I bought the car from Murketts, and at the time of purchase, I had a long chat with Andy Pressland about the car (he personally knew the previous owner) He told me that the car had done one trip to the nurburg but only 1-2 laps were completed due to the owner loosing his bottle in the bad weather! Obviously I cannot gurantee this is the case, but Andy was a very honest and genuine guy and I dont doubt it for a minute. I left the sticker on the car.

I am more than happy for any prospective buyer to have whatever engine/other inspections carried out, provided it is done by BMW. Apologies to Jay for taking 48 hours to respond to his question, but i was out of the country!

It may have done 107K but it's had an easy life compared to most CSL's, always serviced on time by BMW, and with the front end re-spray and wheel refurb done, I think you'd be very hard pressed to find a better example for anything close to this money

Guys, I never met this chap, but did have occasion to see his car at Murketts whilst mine was there and chatted to Andy about it, and from that I can confirm that 600 is a genuine guy, Im just saying that myself as we have seen a load of new faces on this forum in recent times, and not everyone knows everyone and so people can get a bit wary. But one thing is for sure, if Andy Pressland says he is a decent bloke then thats good enough for me, glwts 600.
