I too am an environmentally friendly person (apart from the obvious) so just use a scraper, without water and some decent strength windscreen wash in the washer reservoir if need be. Saying that my e39 M5 has a fabulous screen clearer/heater that my wife always used to envy. 400Bhp heating the windscreen works wonders. To be honest with you I garage both cars religiously anyway and she used to have a soft top Saab that sat outside (see rubbish window de-icers inc.)
Now she has the dogs testicles in the 'visability pack' on a Mini Park Lane which means she has xenons and the heating elements in the glass as well as the normal heater. Pip |

Sailorbaz,
Yeah Aquapel should be better than RainX as it uses a polymer approach to chemically bond to the glass. RainX contains silicon and thus more of a polish that sits on the surface. I do have some Aquapel which they've started flogging in Costco. Have not personally tried it yet, as it needs to be applied when the weather isn't brass monkeys but from all the warning signs on the packaging (gloves to be worn etc..) it looks dangerous enough to work. Just found this test. Of course in extreme weather, I just send the wife out with the kettle.

Yeah, defo Mark, cheers. JonnyS was down there at the end of the summer, had a terrible time with a Puncture and of course no spare with the CSL. Apparently that wee can of jizz is pish and when it gets all over the side of the car is a nightmare to get off!!! |
