Is it that much higher than the VAC rails?
I found this picture with a rail installed and it doesn't look too high to me. hmm Last edited by daniel; 09-05-2010 at 10:07 PM. |

Tankslapper - Did you try the recaro rails or have you seen them sitting too high? I just priced up the vac stuff and it comes to £300 odd without delivery duty and vat

I try 4 different fittings incl the recaro's
I made my own in the end. manage to drop the seat down by 50mm I had the base frames made from different manufacturers it was abit of a nightmare. So I can not be bothered get any further ones made. The Recaro runners with the recaro SPG seat is in fact higher than the standard seat. If you are 6 foot tall or over forget it.

The design of the recaro is stupid, but once i take the bottom cushion off, its perfectly fine height. im 6" by the way, and i was able to get a helmet on with the above setup.

Try Sparco they do mounts and sliding runners, to fit the e46 M3. Then all you have to do is choose the seats. I have the pro 2000 with the sliders and mounts fitted they are perfect height and very comfortable!
