Yep, fresh paint - but we had masked off all the faced areas. It actually turned out to be incorreclty supplied wheel nuts - the taper angles didn't match the wheel. Another important lesson learnt in life!
Shimmy, were you racing in the TTRS? I know a guy (Simon Glen) who was driving an E30 M3 in those races. Last edited by thegingerninja; 29-03-2010 at 01:58 PM. |

My pa had a big bumpered 16valve, i used to love it when he wound it up in second gear, great revving engine. He part x'd it for a Corrado VR6 in the end after we found out it had been in a massive crash, front, back & both sides |

Decent Mk 2 16V are becoming quite rare now - especially since the Golf Championship started in 2007. There have been around 70 cars built for the championship since then and I reckon it has had a small impact on availability and prices of these cars now. We used to be able to pick up a 100,000 miler with a bit of MOT, solid shell, everything complete and working for about £500 - thrash it all the way home and they would never miss a beat - the perfect base for a race car. You have to pay nearly double that for pile crap now.
