i wanted my geo setup at elite last year, they tried to tell mine were worn and to get them replaced first, so I booked into bmw and they said they would be covered except there was nothing wrong with them

seems the guy at elite either didnt know what he was talking about or didnt really want the hassle of doing a full geo setup.. so yeah they would of covered them under warrenty.. I kept away from elite after that went to thorney and they did the geo setup.. totally changed the car has felt hugely more stable since !

i had Thorney tell me my RTAB were worn when i first got the car. Popped into Northampton BMW to get them done under waranty and they said they were fine.

I took the car to Murketts and told them what Throney had said and they checked a little harder and they had started to split.

You sometimes need to get a bar into the RTAB to see the splitting before it becomes too obvious as Thorney had done

I should be safe then I assume thorney would of checked that before they started right ? ps the guy at elite didnt poke a screw driver let alone a bar anywhere near as i was watching he looked at it said it was knackered then tried to sell me poly bushes all round LOL

Thanks for the replies...

I've just noticed that I have a broken rear spring so the car will definitely go in for that and I will be sure to try and find somewhere that will do the RTABs under warranty too.

Incidentally, am I right in thinking that the dealer should replace both springs?

I would always replace both but would be interested to hear what BMW Warranty usually has to say on the subject...

and yes they should change both springs at the same time, not just the broken one.

Alas in my case, they wouldn't change both springs. Only the broken one and the previous owner paid 60 quid or something.

They did fit them both for free though!

mine were changed by the dealers a few years ago but one at a time

i also swapped one or two out

i dont really see why both need to be chnaged tbh, its only a bloody spring - if my coilover snapped i wouldnt buy two!
