No idea matey - my car has still got a 330 battery in it after I got fed up with the OEM CSL one going flat so personally wouldn't use one on a road car, could always swap it before track days though
From 330 battery to the 2317 has got to be at least 10kg saved for me? UK price is £144+vat http://www.braillebattery.co.uk/inde...tteries/b2317/ To work out what is required I'm simply looking at what varley recommend for the red top and the 30 is for up to 3.5L engines and the above is just below the varley in terms of AH and similar cranking voltage, just trying to work out if it will be ok with the extra load needed for night racing? |

They are similar batteries but with less AHs.
This would mean that you cannot leave the car running with radio and lights etc for longer. I personally don't do this... Also since the last visit to the dealer that they destroyed my battery (they left the ignition on during the night...). I will go for this one -> http://www.braillebattery.co.uk/inde...teries/b3121c/ (the non-carbon one b3121 is the same thing and a bit cheaper). 31AH is a compromise compared to the 55AH of the original battery but it's not so extreme like the 21AH. |

When you say "car running with radio and lights etc" do you mean idling or with the engine off?
I've got underdrive pulleys on all ancillaries including the alternator so it provides less current at idle than standard anyway, want to make sure I'm not going to go to far and end up with a car that refuses to start after refuelling! |

Porsche plans to market a new lithium-ion starter battery for three different 2010 model year cars. The battery weighs under six kilograms, roughly ten kilos lighter than a normal lead battery.
Users of the 18Ah battery should notice no difference in performance when compared to the 60Ah Lead battery. The reason for this is that lead battery users normally get the benefit of just 30% of the battery at any given time, versus the 100% available power of the Li-ion version. Purchasers of the 911 GT3, 911 GT 3 RS, and the Boxster Spyder will be able to get the lightweight battery as an option. German pricing for the battery is an astonishingly high €1,904, including VAT. As if that is not bad enough, previous purchasers of those three models can retrofit the battery for €2,499, beginning in February.
