but the whole point of launch control is that the car aids you in burning off from a standstill - the problem with the BMW variant is that you still have to find the right point on the loud pedal to depress - whereas other marques - its does it for you... and thats the whole point of launch control

there's still nothing sweeter than accelerating yourself - using the feel of the pedal

Absolutely! The whole point is minimal wheelspin, which it achieves by modulating the clutch rapidly. If anyones getting loads of wheelspin it may well be because they're not actually pressing the throttle all the way to the floor during the initiation-phase - there's a bit of a stop towards the end of the throttle travel that can feel like the floor but isn't. You need to go beyond that point for LC to take effect, otherwise you are effectively just dumping the clutch at 3,500RPM+near full throttle.

The other good thing in S6 is you can push the lever forward to blip at the lights, or do a launch with less than 3500rpm if you want. You don't have to be doing full LC.

I might have to try this as the only time i tried the launch control feature all i did was light up the tyres....

Sounds like some people aren't doing it properly. The times i've done it, it's worked a treat
