You might think that, they are off the car at the moment and I have been attacking them with pretty much every wheel cleaner I can get my hands on. Iron X, Adam's deep wheel cleaner, Autoglym clean wheels, this is after about 600 miles of relatively steady driving. Back wheels came up a treat but the dust on the front sticks like sh1t to a blanket. Any recommendations welcome.

Not too worried about the brake dust tbh. I usually put 3 or 4 coats of wax on which usually helps cleaning them, I'm more peed off about the scratch on my bonnet caused by a propper nob. See other thread
