Not unless no oil was put in LOL. Perhaps they gave you a broken one they had kicking around from a warranty replacement .

You should get a replacement without a problem, under the 2 year Warranty BMW provide with most (if not all) of their new parts. More importantly I hope they (BMW) will also compensate you for the additional labour costs involved so you don't end up having to pay another lot of labour £££ for removal & install of the busted New (refurbished) diff they supplied you with. Keep us posted mate

Diff considered a consumable part so not covered under warranty?
Except this one of course as its a replacement with its own warranty

2nd new diff being fitted at Sycamore's next week. Damian providing armed escort for my car and staying with it during the repair. Desperately wanted to avoid taking the car to BMW but in the end no choice. We're taking HD pics of the car prior to delivery just as a little insurance against any damage being discovered on its return. Interesting point on the "new Diffs" being supplied by BMW. It doesn't seem fair getting a recon diff for the cost of a new item. |

Fingers crossed it's a good one Also interesting that Damian is taking it all the way to Peterborough Sycamore BMW while Murketts BMW are physicaly around the corner and Elms aren't that much further away What's the story there ? p.s. it's always a good idea to take HD pix of the precious before handing it over to a stranger
