It can, it can mean no CSL at all if there are no other choices. So first place to start is to consider what the car is worth. And then offer that if interested.

Clearly this isn't the type of CSL that you're going to stuff in a carcoon and watch appreciate, it's a driver. If it's a genuine CSL and all the CSL bits are present and correct then why not go for it. No service history isn't great but if you can give it a good looking over, make sure it drives fine and it doesn't sound like a bag of bolts then why not? If the price is right I'd say go for it. You can have a bit of fun bringing it back up to scratch.

It will always have a sketchy history so its value will always reflect that fact, or certainly would if I was ever looking at it.

But... That may not be an issue at all especially if you're going to be its last owner! Right price and condition looks good then buy it. You'll always regret it if you don't!

If you perform a thorough pre-purchase check and go over the little imperfections when you own it, It will only appreciate and being possibly the only example in your country will always make it valuable and collectable.

But, personal advice; do not care about the car's value, depreciation, people's view etc. Just drive and own it as you wish !
One day If you need to sell it, take the potential owner for a drive and that will take care of the sale

Hello, good morning, afternoon, evening to all , names Raj.

I've just joined as i met two CSL owners over the weekend and they ignited my passion for the CSL and they were absolute class gents.

Also saw a gaggle of CSLs at the Sunday Service.

They were Paul (sp2c ) and Prem (dont know his username ).

I met Prem on a crazy tunnel run the day before in his pristine CSL and i was literally drooling crazily over Paul's GT2 did not even know it was his car and started talking like a crazily obsessed car nerd over his beauty.

I have met a few people with CSL's before back when i used to track the car ... many years ago, now its dormant most of the year and just gets abused in the summer months.... Ive had a fair few M3s... and nearly did part with the CSL but could not carry through...literally got pains in my chest

a few of the memorable people i met during the CSL years were Angus (RIP bud) Steve , John Thorne, AJ and Roy, don't know if they are on here (they probably forgot me, im the chubby brown indian ! )... but yeah be nice to learn some knowledge and meet some like minded people.

Owned my Cecil for 11 years and its bought me nothing but Joy, headache, more joy and a lot of memories, i've met a lot of great people too and some have become friends.

Anyways do apologize for the rambling i'm getting old...

hope to meet a few of you at some point .

and lastly its nice to finally meet people who do not ask

"is that a real M3 ?"

"is this one of those CLS S? " ( the amount of times i hear that )
