So what's actually happening to all your cams? Are they pitting or something? Seems odd to have so many failures on such a small production run of cars

You must be able to find a way round waiting for Elms, if things are getting that bad I might give up having mine on warranty.

I would post the link but im not sure people would understand
The cams and the followers come with a hardened layer to protect against wear! My original oil pump lost pressure and stopped supplying the correct amount of oil to the cams and followers subsequently wearing the hardened layer off of the followers and flattening them!with new followers in the cam should really have been changed aswell.so the product of worn cams is the hardened surface on the followers has worn whats left of the surface of the cams!now the cams no longer hardened start to attack the new followers resulting in everything bent fucked in 5000 miles of moderate diving!! I have a contingency plan but thats not happening till January Oh well it should have been spotted in the first place my impression is they were fitted fingers crossed hoping they wouldn't go wrong as bmw don't want 6+ cars sitting outside waiting on cams!!!what do they say about best laid plans??? FUCK UP!!!!

That's one costly way I suppose although a group Court action might have more Oomph, even if it's only a couple of owners with identical problems and following dilemma.
I'm in awe of Billy's patience
