Intermittent Warning Lights
I have my CSL booked in to Murketts on Monday but I'm not sure it will be playing up when it's there.
I have occasional times when the DSC light comes on during a journey and the brake warning light (the one that glows red when handbrake is on), both permanent orange till the ignition is turned off. Next time you turn on, all is well - the lights all come on as they should when I turn on the ignition and go off as they should after a few seconds. My worry is that I drive all the way to Huntingdon and the bloody thing hasn't done it on the journey and there is nothing for them to see. Does anyone know whether that kind of fault code is likely to stay in the memory or be lost when the ignition is turned off and on again? Better still - any odeas what it might be? As I have the full warranty I am perfectly happy for it to go there, as if there is a failure it is likely to be paid for by someone else. It's more the PitA of getting the car there first thing Monday morning for something it might not be prepared to reveal to them....

All the DSC/Traction systems are pretty standard on the E46 I think, so this might be the sort of thing you could reasonably safely throw at your local dealer if Murkett's is a trek.

Also keep in mind that Murketts are no longer staffed by the same people who use to care for our cars so magnificently
Most have now moved to Elms Cambridge in Camborne

more than likely a pressure sensor. if you scan the car and get 'pressure sensor 2' thats the one nearest the brake servo. 'pressure sensor 1' is the one furthest away from the brake servo.

Cheers fellas for all the responsesand I wasn't aware that Murketts had changed as much as that. Did I miss something on here? - Probably as this year work has been far too intrusive - one of the downsides of having expensive cars to pay for
In the event, it was indeed tone of the pressure sensors and they replaced it under the warranty. Might give Elms a shot next time around though. Thanks for all the tips on this. I did make it back to the Silverstone ay very briefly yesterday afternoon and there were a few CSL's doing their thing. I hope eveyone had a good time.
