Error codes, please help.
Hi guys,
Am experiencing engine light on, rough idle and loss of power (seems like limp mode) like last time. Only last time we got a lot of codes from me checking stuff, and the garage decided to erase them and to run the car to see which code would come back, only it took more than a month for the engine light to come back on and all that time it was running fine. So ran diagnostic on the car yesterday, get all sorts of codes concerning camshaft sensor (intake side), misfire, injectors (#2 and #3), TPS 2, something to do with some sort of module (think DME), etc. I then asked him to run OBD II codes to see the P codes that were being thrown, we then got the following codes some the same as above but also some different. P0012 = Camshaft intake side P0313 = Misfire Detected Low Fuel Level P0316 = Misfire Detected On Startup (First 1000 Revolutions) P1342 = Ignition Coil Power Output Stage 1 Short to B+ P1344 = Ignition Coil Power Output Stage 2 Short to B+ The guy at the garage thought it might be something to do with a relay, as he thinkts its strange to have all those codes come up, he looked on some program he has and it says the relay could be the cause. After running the codes we decided to delete them and see if some would come back, only as soon as all the codes where deleted the idle returned to normal (yet again same as last time) and the car is now running fine again. So Im leaning towards giving the relay a go and if that fails swapping ou the intake camshaft sensor. What do you guys think, every heard of anyone having to swap the engine control unit relay? Any help is much appreciated as Im lost.

Gave the relay a go, got a new one and put it in.
Today used the car, and about 20 mins in I feel the car lacks power, next ignition cycle the dreaded light is back on, and the idle is all messed up again.

Sorry to hear you've had problems mate, I can't help with the fault codes but hope you get things sorted soon!
I know Matt has a diagnostics machine, maybe he can advise further? What is the garages next step of advice?

I do Duncan, but they were all working fine when I checked when the problem came about the first time.

Hi mate
Does your garage has the electronic diagram for all these components ? If not, I can get it in GT1 and print it out for you. Please let me know. |

Alex would you happen to have the torque specs for all the components that need to be removed to replace the camshaft sensor on the intake side in the GT1/program by any chance?
