It's not the ABS sensor or the pump (those rarely fail) ...

It's the DSC Pressure sensor - part No: 34521164458

Very common for this crap sensor to fail multiple times before it stops working.

Thanks for the help.

New sensor on order, hope this rectifies the problem.

I always thought an intermitent problem was weird and there was no reason why it would come and go, a fualty sensor makes sense.

Could also be the wheel speed sensor but assume this would come up in the code.

Have you checked your pad depth? I had the same issue and turned out my front pads were almost metal on metal but that was on a 330i not my CSL.
