Tesco Momentum fuel?
Not heard of this one!? Since the price war has started on fuel everyone is hammering the local Shell Garage and I couldn't get into it yesterday so thought I'd have a look in Tesco's, a bit less of a cue so thought I'd chuck £15 worth in, but it wasn't the normal Super it's now called 'Momentum'!?
What's it like, anyone use it and what octane is it in comparison to the V-Power? I've always been firmly on V-Power for my performance cars but did used to use Tesco fuel all the other times, it does help with getting clubcard points and with paying for free eurotunnel crossings too!

Thought it was just Tesco 99 rebranded.

Could well be I guess mate, I take it that it's 99 Octane then, V-Power is only 97 or 98 isn't it?
Think I'll just stick with V-Power anyway as don't have a problem with it and Shell has finally come down in price too!!

You are right Nathan, just tesco 99.
Some lovers, some haters. When I had my evo, it would run perfect on v power but on the tesco it just did not feel as sharp. It was always down on the rollers too. So on that basis I tend to use V-power, but I dont discount the tesco stuff. If im stuck ill fill with the tesco, but with choice I use V-power. And to be honest I dont notice a difference on the CSL, turbo cars are more sensitive to the fuel quality than N/A. The only thing that puts me off is we have done quite a few cars with contaminated fuel, incidently all had recently filled at tesco. It felt like water the way they ran. |

I've never noticed a difference to be honest, other than in my dad's XJ wish used to get much better fuel economy with the BP Ultimate.
I just use them because of the cleaning additives.

I would think for that alone that the V-Power is a much more advanced fuel isn't it? Could be a good point!
Thinking about it arn't a couple of the cars in the CSL Cup sponsored by 'Tesco Momentum', do they run the fuel in their cars then?

Thorney's been associated with them for a little while now? Think it started when he did a fuel comparison test and Tesco 99 came up trumps.

I am using only v-power racing 100.
Recently I did the Inspektion II service. In the valve clearance adjustment, only two exhaust valves needed adjustment (slight offset). This means that the engine works very good with this fuel. Shell fuel solutions, thank you please. |

I think there is only a handful of places that sell that over here. I was going to add a bit of the bi-ethanol from morrisons, just a drop see how it runs. |
