Num of owners
Guys,
Called up a main dealer who was selling a CSL. Apart from the salesman having no clue about the product he was trying to sell he did say the car had 7 previous owners and for a 2004 car I thought that was pretty high. Mileage is 29k so that's basically each owner covered an average 4k miles each. Does anyone think 7 owners is pretty high baring in mind I'm lucky if I'll own the car 1 year? Thanks |

Pretty much reasoned why so many owners with that statement. Most are used as second cars and most then decide they dont use it enough, most people are also well off who swap and change cars like socks, much like I tend to do Buy on condition and use it as a bargainig tool, they would if they were bidding your car |

Don't agree 1 per a year...these do tend to change hands often because of the nature of the car. People buy them scratch the itch and move on to something else (christ nows what).....not always the case mind but they are a specialist market.

Go on condition, invoices, test drive etc and if possible speak to previous owners. I bought a 3 owner car (30 months old) in preference to a one owner that looked the dogs b***s. On the test drive it turned out to be a real dog.

I am the second owner of mine.
Previous owner was a quite serious bloke and was treating the car good. I believe that if someone gets a car and is planning to sell it soon, he won't take care about the car unless he is a mazohist (or a real real car friend). |
