I, like many here, was a little too bothered about trying to get a low mileage/untracked example when i was looking for my CSL.

Knowing what i know now, i would happily buy a car that had 50/60k plus miles, preferably with warranty and FBMWSH, and ideally having been owned by an enthusiast owner - like many of the good folks on here...

Ok, so the sentiment is that people would buy one, but then what is the financial benefit you'd expect as the purchaser? Mine is priced on average £5K lower than examples 20K less miles yet I have people saying they don't want to pay more than £20K. If that's the case then people are very price to mileage sensitive. Each mile you do is very expensive then in a CSL.

That's my concern... although in theory mileage is not an issue, in practice no one wants to buy a high mileage car.

Thanks for the replies btw, I was really encouraged until Jeffs's real world issues. Now I am in 2 minds!

That's also my concern. As I've been looking around for examples it became clear that with my budget I'd only be able to really afford a higher mileage example. Resale is important as I tend to only keep my cars for around a year (I start off with all the intents and purposes of keeping it 'forever'... unfortunately the shine wears off too quickly with most things!)

To be honest Jeff I was looking at yours too but the mileage did make me shy away for the above reasons. I understand why someone would say 20k is a good price for it, as it gives room for the resale afterwards, but that doesn't make you feel any better about the price I'd imagine.

In my case I don't need to sell and given I recently bought it and have spent a lot of money on warranty, inspection II etc last month to then lose that much again on the car isn't worth it. I'll keep it for another 6-9 months and then take the £20K odd and at least have had some more fun in it.

Jeff, your car is very cheap at £20k. You see 03/04 M3's at £20k!! Don't blame you for holding on. I know of 2 cars with your sort of miles sold easily at £24k.
