Default Test Drive and the hunt is on !!

So I test drove a CSL from BMW Swindon today, scared the young salesman to death, I quickly found the Sport button and the TC off ...

My Opinion is the CSL is a fine chassis, great sounding engine ... quite quick
( I come from the world of 270bhp Caterhams and 700 bhp Ultima GTR ) but the CSL is as much fun balancing the throttle and steering. Hopefully more reliability than either.

PS The carbon splitter on the CSL were very stone chipped are they easily replacible or v expensive

For a regular trackdayer I would have

spare set rims and cups
adj front camber plates at least
brakes all round (ap, alcon)
RTAB limiter kit

next on my list would be

oil cooler
adjustable suspension
if paint A1 wrap the front of car
seat, half cage and harness

Yep agree with Shimmy on his list.

Don't waste your money on power mods as they really don't give you much BHP for your buck....

Oil coolers next on my hit list i think

To keep your oil cool duh!

Sustained track action will undoubtedly raise oil temps and an uprated/relocated unit will keep temps down. Obvioulsy cooked oil is very bad for the engine. It shears and offers reduced lubrication.

I don't know what form the std one is but most uprated oil coolers are remote and fit in the front of the car to grab more cool air. YOu can also relocate the oil filter at the same time if you wish. Here's a pic of not particularly neat set up.
