Default Bubble gum tyres!

Bit of a noob question...!

Apart from doing a spot of drifting or a donut or two in a MacDonalds carpark, what is the easiest way to rid Cup tyres of the melted 'bubble gum' rubber effect caused by a little track day action?

Example:

just drive it on the road ... it'll disappear.

Mine were like that after the track day and within 2 days of driving on the road (less than 100km later) it was all gone.

Although NZ does have rather coarse chip seals ....

heat gun and scraper works if you really want to sort it out, but driving will do just as well

Rob, thats why CUPS are for driving to, from and around the track. It would have been gone by the time you get home! They are road tyres after all!

Ah cool cheers guys

Anyway back on topic,

Thats pretty normal and as has been said a good run will sort it.

On track i usually try to stay on the clean line for my in lap as this seems to clean the tyres of any crud thats been picked up.

Only problem is if the session is red flagged and you have to go onto a dirty part of the track before entering the pits.

My Moulded Slicks from my 22B are exactly the same as your Cups because of a red flag situation but as these are not road legal they will just need to stay like that until they see track next.

Just stick them on the car and go for a "spirited" run.
