Default Yanto has got me thinking

Following on from Oh my goodness.

Time to show your age gents and cslgirl.

When you first passed your test what cars did you lust over but could not quite afford. I am not talking about dream cars, e.g. Lambo, etc but cars just out of reach.

For me it was the Renault Gordini & Alfasud.

For me it was the hot hatches. 205gti, rs turbo, Sierra Cosworth, even fast Rovers. Then the proper dream cars like the 959 or F40. Lambourghini Diablo when that was introduced.
I passed my test in 1991, I'm 41.

Not telling when I passed my test, but you could work it out from my choice of cars.

Liked the 205gti, however I chose the Fiat Abarth 130

Loved the Sierra Cosworth to both look at and drive. Insurance and high incidence of theft put me off.

I used to go to Bristol Street Motors in Bromley and drool at one similar to this.

In the early 90's I owned an Astra gte 16v (at 21) and paid well over £1k insurance! Always lusted after the Champion limited edition though, with the leather seats.

We had a little crew going - a sierra cosworth owned by my now husband, 2 x renault gt turbos and a 205 peugeot 1.9 gti - them were the days racing off the lights !!

I'm 28 so I passed my test in June 2003. I think the car I lusted after from 16-17 was the Mk1 Focus RS which I finally bought in 2009 and as I've already said, Top Gear showed me for the first time the Noble M12, which I finally bought in 2010 and the CSL which I own now.

The only other cars I've really properly lusted after is an R34 GTR which I'm not so sure would be that fun to drive on the road and in more recent years a 71' Skyline GTR which was only for the sound that I now have 80% of in the CSL now already.

I suppose I'd love a 997 GT3 but unless I win some money I can't see that ever happening. Still, 3 dream cars before I'm 30 isn't bad going.

Good going. In my early 30 I had a Ur quattro.
