I thought i'd post up this little brake refurb i did on the M3. My rear brakes were making a silly moaning sound when I reversed in the car. I have just been so busy that i didn't even bother to inspect the brakes thoroughly. The car doesnt get used much any way...upon inspection i noticed that there was a lip on the Rotors and there was hardly any meat left on the pads.
So I ordered the following parts in prep for the work on the brakes: OEM Rear Caliper Rebuild kit OEM CSL/Euro M3 Rear Rotors OEM Rear pad Sensor PFC Z-Rated Rear Brake pads for OEM calipers PFC Z-Rated Front Brake pads for ST40 BBK MOTUL RBF-660 Brake fluid Bimmerworld OEM spherical bearing RTAB Stainless Steel Brake Disc Screws (to hold the rotors to the hub) TMS Caliper Bushing Upgrade Kit As a bonus I also got a newly updated LCM from my ol friend and supplier of all things BMW electronic and code related, TERRA....The benefits of having this LCM installed and coded is that i now have triple blink function, Xenon flash to pass function all like the newer gen of BMW's. I tell ya the M3 really needed a bit of modernisation love every now and then while keeping things classy... Anyhow on to the pics..... The goodies... ![]() TMS Caliper Bushing Upgrade Kit ![]() OEM CSL/EURO M3 Rotors ![]() ![]() Motul RBF-660 Brake Fluid ![]() PFC Z-RATED Pads for ST40 and OEM Rear Rotors ![]() BW RTAB's ![]() Rear Caliper Rebuild....Gave the calipers a good clean too. I had painted them a few years back with some brake enamel and highlighted the ///M logo's in silver. Came out pretty nice and clean in the end... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Preparing to install TMS Bushing upgrade... Those locking clips are super important to hold those suckers in the caliper..... ![]() ![]() ![]() NEW OEM Rear Rotors installed and everything cleaned up. ![]() ![]() ![]() And you can see in these pics the BW RTABs installed.. ![]() Well I really like the PFC Z-RATED pads so far. Nice initial bite but I cant really do a review on them as i've only put 50kms on them so far. I have already dont eh brake bedding in procedure but I might have to hit the Highway again late in the night to do another run of bedding in.... Before running the BW RTABs I had the Powerflex ones and they were absoultely fantastic. No noise and nice and comfy. The only reason I changed them out to the BW ones is to test different products. The BW RTABs are a huge difference for people who like a firmer feel from the ride. The only way I can explain is Tighter suspension feel and firmer road feel... Basically a more SOLID feeling without losing comfort.... Well I might have lost 30% of the comfort I had with the PF RTAB's

Thanks mate,
Anyone changing their rotors get some Stainless steel rotors screws as OEM ones always rust or get Stuck.... http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-M3-...raking/Rotors/
