Default AP Calipers - Rusty nuts!

Just a quick question/post but I noticed during a recent clean that the nuts holding the pipe into the out 'outer' half of my AP callipers has a considerable amount of rust on it when compared to a friends callipers which are 3-4 times the age of my 20 month old units.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos of them since I'm offshore but has anyone else ever experience this? The pipe itself and all surrounding parts are mint but this securing nut looks 30 years old! Maybe these items are substandard parts compared to what AP usually use.

Cheers,
Barry
