Default Roof Question

Anyone have their roof peel, crack or fade?

And getting a new one from BMW is now near impossible. I was in the dealers today buying some bits and pieces. I asked about the status on the roof and he showed me the diagram and part no. of the metal one they will replace it with.

That is why I think they should be garaged when not in use. All that sunshine on a hydrocarbon material is going to weaken it eventually. Probably a good job we do not have much sunshine over here.

I think you and a few others with 'problems' need to email someone important within BMW and say that you need the back up that you thought a large volume manufacturer like BMW would provide. Tell them they need to make another job lot - with a one for one replacement basis to stop those nasty Yanks and wannabe looky likeys .

First roof I ordered was damaged in transit.

Second roof was perfect and the finish has held up. I park outside all year round.
