Headlight 5w 194 bulb -> replace with LED?
Pls don't slam me for asking. I search and seems like no one is interested in changing this particular bulb.
Its the little bulb located in the headlights. Its yellowish colour. Its no. 3 on the realoem diagram. My question is can I replace this little bulb with a 194 LED bulb and will it give me any errors? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9-LED-XENO...item1e6d4d396a I'm currently on a DIY mod funk (just done my own 4 tail light harness with a handful of diodes and resistors for my GTR. Saved myself hundred quid for beers), so gathered why not give cesil some better looking pupils. Any help is much appreciated.

yes they look rubbish on the car, an led will put an error on the dash unless its got a resistor in to combat that, I fitted a PIAA Extreme 501 replacement that is a perfectly blue bulb that produces a perfect white light. Use them in other cars and they are a great alternative to an led that can look a bit naff.

Be careful with some of these 'Error-free' led lamp. I bought indicators off a guy (£8 was hardly a heavy loss) and those threw the indicator into the rapid flash mode suggesting a lamp was out when it obviously wasnt. Put the originals back in and left them in the garage.
That was on my E90 however. |

thanks guys for clearing that up. German engineering for you, thorough checks everywhere.
Was hoping to get the LED's so I could use them as DRL (daytime Running lights) but I guess easier just to get a couple of blue bulbs and be done, albeit they are so dim its a joke.

Just a quickie, anyone renew their key FOB casing? Was considering renewing mine as it looks kind of skankie.

quick update, got some blue 221 resistor LED's. No error and they look way sharp. Will probably get them in yellow, white also as they are so frigging cheap.
