Default The search

Despite my continued search I'm still to find the perfect CSL to grace my drive way.. After five years of procrastination I decided to take the plunge and get behind the wheel of one of my dream cars.

My budget started out fairly modest but has gradually increased to ensure I get an example I'd be happy to own. Having looked at a few cars now I'm gettin a little disheartened with the search, the main sticking point on the cars I've enquired about is the service history! I fail to understand how someone purchases a car of over £20k only to neglect the servicing schedule, bizzare for a normal car but crazy for a highly strung performance car.

Well, my search continues and my budget is now set, I'm sure te right car will show up, it's just a waiting game.

I assume cars will be coming out of hibernation soon, whether these will be up for sale remains to be seen.

Anyone thinking of parting with a SG Csl, just let me know.

Good luck! I am sure some will come up in Spring, although at that time they'll be enjoying them too much to sell! Maybe Autumn? When you do get one, you'll love it.

The way the search is going you could be right, I have enquired about a lot of cars but just haven't found one that's right for me.

My budget started at 23 then jumped to 25 and is finally around the 28k mark, I think this figure should secure a nice example, it's finding one that's the problem. Main sticking point on most is the service history.

The only plus point is its nice having the cash still under the mattress

I think I was very lucky... full BMW history and all software updates... I went to view having not sold my Porsche, drove it, heard the induction noise then bought it! The first and only one I had seen!

I'll be doing 18-20k miles a year in her, so the mileage will ramp up... this was a concern for a while but then what's the point of having it and not using it everyday! After 3 years she'll have 130k on the clock and will go under £20k in value. At that point she'll be one of the best maintained and cheapest!

Be patient and you will get one that you'll love. It must be nice waiting for the right car and knowing exactly what you want as when you do get one the feeling of satisfaction will be immense!

My other dream car is Escort mark 1 RS2000... but they are at silly prices... £20k...

Good luck!

would not wait too long. After the lads do the Munich trip, probably alot of petrol-heads will want a slice of ///M history in its full glory. Even AC's sutters loves the CSL, albeit he really flunked about them having it in the US.
