Shopping/Drinking trip to New York

Morning gents,

Her indoors is looking a trip to New York in October and after searching the hundreds of hotels online, I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any recent experience with hotels and the likes in New York.

She's of course looking 3 days of shopping and I can't stand shopping but I'll persevere it since she's wanted to do it for as long as I can remember. And of course I'll get to pub it and maybe see a show or two along with the drinking.

I was looking at the Renaissance @ Times Square and also 'Dream Downtown' looked pretty smart as well.

Any suggestions welcome, I know Rob was there recently but I'm guessing you were staying on board were you? I've been before myself but also stayed on board the ship

Also, any decent 'Trip to New York' websites that people normally use, I've tried the usual Expedia etc.

I have tried a lot of hotels around New York and always comes back to W at times square
