I agree with Shimmy
I don't think they will delaminate, I just think they might go "off", and not grip as well as a fresh cup. But they would have to be cheap, very cheap. Last edited by shane@mbtech; 25-06-2012 at 11:28 PM. |

i ran 39th wk 2003 cups on the rear for a while up until feb this year. no problems with them, wore evenly, gave decent grip but not as much as the newer ones i replaced them with.

STAY AWAY from them.
Not worth the money saved. It's your car and your life (and possibly somebody else's life you are risking here). I wish I took photos of my 10 year old cups (barely used) to show you guys but these tyres delaminate JUST LIKE ANY OTHER TYRE would after a certain period. The tyres I had have had less than two track day outings with nearly 80% of the tread still remaining (these were heat cycled also at the track) and the rest of the time sat in a dry room, away from the sun. When I pulled them off two out of the four tyres had extreme delamination going on with one tyre having roughly no more than 10cm of rubber holding onto the tyre wall on the inside. The rest all showed signs of cracking near or around the joint between the tyre wall and the tread. |

Strange then why BMW Munich is selling so old tyres.
They should offer a set of fresh cups for CSL owners only @ 800 EUR |
