They bought their own Compaq file server and pay a lot of money every month to have it installed in a secure data-center. I wouldn't blame them if they just said f**k it and didn't bother any more. Then a lot of the other sites wouldn't have mtorque to steal their info from....

Everyone moans about it but it has been providing top quality M3 info for EIGHT YEARS, and CSL info since it's launch.

I think people misunderstand why Mtorque has its stringent rules. It has a very large member base and has a huge wealth of info that stretches back 8 years. Mtorque is known as the source for all possible info for M cars, better than PH and most other forums. While it is frustrating for members who generally are good with forums it makes sure that members who join just to get 1 question answered or 1 item sold and then disappear into the sunset don't just use and abuse the site. Somewhere like CSL register is much easier to manage as it's a lot more specific with a lot less members where people may have also met.

Mtorque wouldn't seem so bad to people if most people realised that it just takes a little bit more time to follow forum etiquette due to the fact it has such a large member base.

Mtorque is great for info, cant deny that, but I prefer it here cos folk are more friendly and there is alot less attitude.

Its a bit like a night club vs your local pub - good for getting what you want ( ), but not so good for the banter
