Very slight play in steering wheel....
What should I be checking first folks ?
(and before the gags start, it was there prior to car limits !) |

Re-balance front wheels in my case one of my spacers was a bit warped must had been brett bounce added weight at silverstone

By play to you mean it moves with out moving the wheels OR it wobbles when driving?

If it wobbles when driving it could be balance out, ball joint, track rod end, or track rod. If the steering moves but the wheels don't, then most likely track rod end or track rod. But you need to get it jacked up and check for side to side play in the wheels. Ideally get it checked by a suitable person, not someone in a suit |

See my post above. But you need to illiminate the steering collumn. How do you know the steering wheel moves without the wheels moving? You will always have slight play, is it engine on or off. Power steering systems always have slight play when engine not running, run engine and the play in the rack can disappear. As above though, better to be safe than sorry, get it checked out. |
