Default Differential Oil - Insp II

Having had my Insp II just done should my differential oil have been changed. I understand from reading on this site that a change was made to the differential oil used on the service schedule.

Does anyone have the 'part' number for the new oil so I can check my statement.

Don't think it's changed in insp 2

Even new diffs are supplied with the original diff oil and not changed unless you have issues

As Bounce says it is in the list of things done on an Insp II.

I take it from the responses that most have not had the new differential oil put in then. I am not sure if I feel more annoyed or placated by these responses.

Pip
If they change the oil at Insp2 they won't put the new oil type in. They only put new type in as a response to the diff noise issue

I had my Inspection II done during the summer and I had the new type diff oil put in. I hadn't made any specific complaint about the diff or otherwise.

The part number is 83.22.2.282.583

They also put in gearbox oil so maybe my dealer just does it by the book.

Diff and gear oil should be replaced on inspection 2 . Modded oil only fitted if noise from diff or customer request ( may put quoted price up a bit if modded oil fitted ) . Hope this helps
