Default lowering my db readings

Got tested last Thursday at Snetterton and measured 113db
But the car was sat by the testing station for 45min-1 hour while the briefing was on, plus cold.

Got told to go home, luckily they let me re-test, after a nice drive around Norfolk admiring the views I measured 105db.

They did put the probes in the exhaust and I thought it was read from 1m away?

Car has Supersprint cats, centre pipe and lightweight supersprint back box.

Is it as simple as getting the back box repacked or to be total sure putting the OEM back box on (which id need to buy)?

Can't believe it was that loud, had the same ( well miltek cats ) but was never over 100 ... dodgy testing equipment more than likely, or keep you revs a bit lower

Kept rev's V low, remember reading a thread on here by Duncan and leaving it on 5k, but the other inspector ended up making sure I was dead on the 6k mark

Perfectly fine when on track.

Also probe was shoved in exhaust and not half a metre away/45° angle.

Resonated SS centre pipe (to replace your straight through one) should bring your decibel numbers down Billy
The OEM back box is too quiet & very heavy

It will be the SS cat section that adds the most noise.

I have SS manifold, SS unresonated centre section & SS Lightweight Racing back box but with OEM cat and i measure 100db (warm).

I had the same issues when running a full Milltek system - once i replaced the Miltek cat for OEM it was bearable!
