Default if you want your car mapped!

i wouldnt look any further than Sal at Evolve.

Back in March i had Sal put on a map for my car as a trial for a few days and i managed to get a good 500 mile run with it to try it out.

I have to say, like Anis, i found it made the car smoother to drive, took away all the flat spots (particularly one at 3500) and most of all seemed to let the car pull relentlessly all the way up to the rev limiter. It felt like the car needed a 8500rpm limit it was pulling so evenly from around 4500 all the way up.

Obviously i had the speed limiter removed and sport memory button sorted at the same time.

After the car had been to BMW for some work and a BMW software upgrade i carefully thought about if i should put the Evolve map back on (and pay for it this time). I did.

I have to say i dont like Dynos much as my car gets more than its fair share of high rpm but i thought id see what difference it made on track which is a much better benchmark in my opinion (especially with the my track data records). The map had been supplemented with about 60kg of weight loss inc new rims.

So at Bedford GT after 12 trackdays where my best times were all 2m 47-49s i managed to knock 5.5s off that time with a top speed up by 5.7mph

At Snetterton after 5 visits where all my best times were 1m 21.7-22.8 i bettered it by 2.2s and top speed up by 6.3mph.

So make your own minds up but i have to say the car feels and drives better, obviously helped also by the rims and weight improvements.

Bring on Spa and the full 100kg saving and the 4.10 diff fitted.
