Rotors from PFC
Greetings from Chicago,
Since there's no dedicated sub-forum for track-centric things, I figured I'd stick this here. If the mods feel there's a better location please feel free to move it. As I'm sure most of you have experienced finding replacement rotors in the CSL size (345mm) besides OEM is very difficult. As a U.S. M3 owner with the "competition package" I have these same rotors and have found that they don't hold up to any serious track time. After a year of working with Bimmerworld and James Clay (a U.S. based shop and racing team that runs in the Rolex series here) we were able to get Peformance Friction to manufacture a rotor that will work with any car using CSL/comp package brakes. It's a full floating two piece design, and what's quite slick about it is there's no mounting hardware, so rotor ring changes are faster. I put mine on this past weekend and will be running them at Road America this weekend. I know AP is the go-to source for brakes here, but for those that don't want to go the whole BBK route, this is a viable alternative. I have no vested interest in this product other than hoping it fills a gap that exists, although admittedly with the time I've put in to try and help get this project done, I hope it's successful. The link below is to Bimmerworld's site where you can use the pull down on the page to select the CSL rotors. Please note the picture shows the older Direct Drive rotors. I may try and post a picture of mine later. http://store.bimmerworld.com/perform...ions-p608.aspx |
