I've recently left the fold but it's been a great seven years!

I was someone who saw the early protos in Top Gear magazine back in 2002 (when I had a 'regular' M3) - made my dealer aware I was VERY interested if they ever did it, and then sat around not knowing if they were ever going to release it.... then did the BMW M Power day at Silverstone in May 2003 where they had a very early Sapphire Black RHD CSL. Remember saying at the time "I'm not gonna bother, it looks cack" but then about two weeks later mid June I got the email from BMW asking if I really wanted one YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! and August 2003 I got it after a technical issue delayed loads of them at Thorne for a couple of weeks. I started doing trackdays in it almost as soon as the 1200 mile service was out of the way, and did god knows how many laps of Oulton (probably a world record ). I've never been so attached to a car as I was with the CSL, but things happened and I got an offer on my car (unexpected) and I was feeling like I wanted a change, so I did it. Traded in for an E92 M3 Alpine White Edition. A different beast in almost every way (some good, some less so) but I'm happy. CSL was the best car I ever owned and I doubt I'll ever own another car for that long. I have many fond memories
