Michelin Cup tyre wear
as most of you know i have been running since March this year with 265x35x18 Michelin Cups all round
i have done 4 trackdays inc two part wet ones, but two very dry ones at Bedford and Snetterton and with the new geo and tyre pressure info they seem to be coping very well. Had a look at them today and normally after this amount of use the fronts edges would be looking a little worse for wear but even though the front shoulder has been worn more than the rear they are stil very usable Now i must decide whether to do one more trackday before switching them front-to-rear-to-front where FRONT 265x35 M/Cup (725 track miles plus road miles - some outer/inner shoulder wear and pick up) REAR 265x35 M/Cup (725 track miles plus road miles - mainly middle wear) NEW 265x35 M/Cup (nicey heat cycled ready for later in the year) My recomendation for anybody using Cups on track (not necessarily on the RIng) is; 1. Heat Cycle them before use (around £40) 2. Keep the laps down to say 25 miles per session (12-15 laps) to avoid overheating them 3. Use a/m suspension if you can as it will stop roll onto the outer edges when firmed up 4. Keep your tyre pressures below 32psi HOT even on the rear as low as 26-28psi if you are really working them very hard 5. Swap fronts and rears left to right when you do consequetive right handed tracks
