SMG + Engine Light

Guys

Drove back from Bristol to London today, no probs on the motorway (spirited driving

) but then got snarled up in heavy traffic through Ken & Chelsea, Embankment and City. After much stop/starting, the SMG light came on followed by the engine block light. The gearbox kept putting itself into neutral.

Limped home, turned off and let settle for 30 mins - SMG light now off though engine light (which apparantly is a warning for engine emissions) is still on. I'll check tomorrow if still on.

Manual says a check up at dealers is required, though Inspection 2 was completed only 2k ago.

Anyone else exoerienced ? Is opinion that this is serious or just a "niggle" following very heavy stop/start traffic ?
