Maybe I was expecting too much but I personally felt that £30k for a 90k miler should be a well looked after, garaged, tidy car with good bodywork. I don't think I'm speaking out of turn when I say the rear seat centre console would need redoing and I have no idea what that would cost. The alloys need doing, tyres aren't great if I recall but that is all by the by really. It was the bodywork that, to me, looked like it had been tracked hard although this was denied by the seller and so he is probably right and I am probably wrong. There were chunks of paint missing on the bumper and front and bubbling on the arches and i felt it needed a full respray. I didn't think some bits of trim fitted properly either but, again, perhaps I'm being picky. I personally felt that if it had bodywork like that, a new engine and new gearbox and all that stuff then it could have been driven hard and not looked after and i thought that underneath there may have been problems too although I did not get it up on ramps. I know I have driven 'daily' drivers to similar mileage and so on and seen many a 100k mile car and none have looked that bad on the front end. But, it has had tens of thousands spent on it, is under warranty and is a CSL that is hpi clear with one of the lowest mileage engines out there so someone may have an entirely different view to me. I think people have different opinions but I personally felt that I would be more comfortable spending slightly more on a more original, lower owner car with lower mileage and original engine etc. I don't know who or how much the carbon splitters would be, can you paint a carbon front spoiler, who would do the bodywork, the time taken and dealing with it all is just too much hassle for me. Someone that is more 'hands on' may like the idea of this, a bodyshop or detailer may suit it etc. But, speak to the seller, he describes this in the advert, is a nice chap and maybe a deal could be had for someone looking for a way into CSL ownership.
