My Red E46 sprint car
So Back in the middle of last rear I bought this car from lawsy to compete in a sprint series I do at Knockhill.
The car was very well sorted with some really nice bits so it was just a case of putting my own mark on it. I thought it was about time I stuck some pictures up of the last 8 or so months so here's what I have been up to. June on the way back from Shanes with the new purchase. So rear spoiler off which left this on the bootlid As this was going to be my race car a CSL rep lid was ordered up from Poland. 3 days later this arrived and was quickly painted and fitted. So then it was time to try it out so a quick trip over to Germany for my yearly DN days The car has a custom exhaust but as I run in modified road class I need cats so Shane had a new centre section made for me with 2 race cats So that was it ready for its 1st event, loaded up and off for a weekends racing Car suffered some heat issues in Germany and also during my weekend at Knockhill so proceeded to do the fan modification And everything that was removed I ran the car like this for the remainder of the season and had a ball. So over the winter I removed the 4.10 diff for a refresh, rebuilt both the rear shafts, done a little more weight reduction with removal of carpets, sound deadening and air bags. Obviously removing the drivers one left me with the need to fit an aftermarket wheel so until I need the Geartronics kit from Nathan I made something up to tide me over. So that's it, oil and filter change over the next week or so then back to it with the 1st outing on the 28th. Its a work in progress so will tinker away throughout the year again. Cheers for looking |
