I cried, Lawsy must of had a sigh of relief , Dunc had fun in the wet and was flat the sunny , Will had people needing a change of pants even though he couldn't take Lawsy. Curly was watching helmets to pick up driving faults
3wheels was flying in the morning and then the late night must have kicked in Lawsy's mates were sound and Toplad turned up a bit late for a spin all in all a good day with the lads Tom loved it again and his mates 1st track day , he loved every minute even in the recovery truck in the passenger seat x 2 |

Had a bit more sideways fun on the last wet laps, this time intended though, Was playing for Duncs camera. He should have some good footage. Was a great day, had some great fun battling with Will in his Evo, had some really good laps together. And some great laps with Duncan too. Steve was flying in his festiva, great through the twisties, shame it tops out at 67mph. It looked like a dog having a piss through the corners, rear wheel about 1ft off the ground. The E92 was great, esp considering I was virtually stock, bar cup+, lowering springs and uprated pads. It was quick too, lacked the finesse of a CSL, showed its weight, but it still held its own really well. In the morning it was great, but after some heavy use I started to fook the front tyres, and in the afternoon my tyres where fucked. To drive them really fast, they will chew tyres. They seem to have far less front end grip than the CSL, and it suffered a bit of bump steer. It understeered quite a bit. I have chewed a brand new set of front cups, obviously with a good coilover kit and good geo too, it would be far better. The stock brakes, with just uprated pads alone where fantastic and never faded all day, they lacked the outright feel of a big brake kit, but they stopped it on its nose lap after lap. Although Duncs CSL far outbraked me, the weight and geo being the big factor. Overall the E92 is a great car and was really good on track, it was harder to drive fast than the CSL was, but I reckon with the correct mods will be just as quick in the right hands. The straight line grunt out the slow speed corners was epic and it left the CSL's looking like they where in reverse, the DCT helping with that. My parting comment..... the E92 will never be as good as CSL on track, but can be nearly as fast- track dependent. Now if the CSL had the same grunt as my M3 then the CSL would be even more epic. A great great day, and night too. Good to see all you guys again. PS Dunc, get my sliding vid posted up. |
