Since I bought my CSL in '09 I was thinking of doing the same but was put off by reading Shimmy's feedback when he tried the same set up some time ago

Nothing like trying it for yourself mate. You may like what someone else doesn't and what works on one car may not on another.

For me the jury is still out. I'm waiting for higher temps before rejecting. Plus I have a mountain of half worn 265 Cups to get through anyway, so it's all good.

my comments if i remember correctly were mixed. I think turn in was improved but they were old cups on the front. I think def breaking was improved. Tramling was increased (only matter for road use and i didnt fancy running them on the road so that meant 2 more tyre with me.

Overall i just thought new 18 inch rims were a more cost effective way of doing 265 all round and i thought lighter rims at the front rather than heavier if i was looking for improvement as well

Quite Shim. Similar thoughts myself. Braking, turn in and corner entry were fab. My Cups were 2010 production all round, although part worn to maybe 3-2.5mm.

Fair comment mate but if you need a volentear to help you get through the mountain of CUPs I'll be delighted to help a friend in need
I'm running 19" O.E. full PHAT CUPs this year and the 18" 9J square set up with DUNLOP semis as back up
