I tried various spacer dimensions and types to get the correct caliper to wheel clearance while fitting Matt’s CSL brake solutions.

I had the exact same problem fitting AC Schnitzer race type III wheels using Eibach system 7 20mm spacers and the recommended OE wheel bolts.

I only noticed that the wheel bolts where too long because of the gouge marks left in the disc/hub face after removing the wheel.

The solution for me was to purchase the bolt through type which I had milled down to 17mm.

Cslsuperfan. I stand to be corrected but OE wheel bolts should be 26mm long so it does seem strange that your OE bolts are at least 10mm too long.

You could check Demon Tweeks for a few alternatives. The shortest wheel bolt they stock is 22mm: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Wheels_Tyres/Wheel_Tyre_Accessories/Grayston_Wheel_Bolt/1789/5277

OE threads are M12 x 1.5. Fixed 60 degree with 17mm head.

If you don’t fancy cutting the wheel bolts down you could convert to wheel studs and nuts: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Wheels_Tyres/Wheel_Tyre_Accessories/Grayston_Conversion_Stud/1789/5261

I would be interested to hear how you resolve your dilemma.

Good luck.

Default wheel spacer issue solved

bigfoot,
managed to resolve the spacer issue. After taking the advice of forum members i decided to go for through bolts into the original blind holes in the hubs.
Sourced 40mm wheel bolts from Demon Tweeks and drilled out the 11.50 mm threads to 12mm and hey presto!! bolts now pass through the spacers.
haven't test drove the car but i've been told 15mm spacers are OK on csl alloys with oem cups(265/30/19)
the car looks even more aggressive than before.
will let you know how things go after i've driven some powys b roads!!

Good choice. Adapter plates are not a good idea at all, especially with a car of this weight that generates such lateral g.

Glad too hear that my ramblings helped.

Only thing is we've got to have photos now to show off the fruits of your labours.
