Thanks for all the info, I'll get reading. Main reason for going to 18 though is much more choice of rubber.

Will now have to go and understand what offsets actually are, so much for just buying a set of wheels and slapping them on!

Front 18x9.5J ET+41 (265/35/18 tyre)
Rear 18x10.5J ET+28 (285/30/18 tyre)

Rob have you fitted these wheels to your car yet ?

The reason for asking is the only 9.5J I could get to fit on the front was et40 with a 12mm spacers ie = to 28et.

Because of the rolling distance of your tyre set up is different ie the rears tyre will rotate faster than the fronts. you will find on certain bits of road particularly going down hill the DSC will come in and reduce the engine revs as the on-board computer think the rear wheels are spinning up. So you will have to run with the DSC off.

My front 9,5Jx18inch are et35 with 3mm spacer so et32 and the 265/35/18 fit fine, no rubbing at all on the bodywork or arches, and miss the Intrax by a whisker

Used them road and track and no DSC issues at all, not even once

Shimmy, I was referring to the 285/30 rubber on the rear and 265/35 on the front

Friend runs these in his Porsche.
They can produce them with the offset that you need.
They are very strong and lightweight.

He runs
19 x 8.5 = 7.6kg
19 x 10 = 8.4kg

Makes BBS racing wheels seem heavy.
Not sure about the weight of E88s tbh but if you compare it with BBS LMs, the LMs feel like anchors for a boat.

Still, my Tyres and rims allow me to drive with bald Tyres in the rain as the DSC keeps working

No mate, i haven't fitted them yet as i had to replace the main inner rim on a rear last weekend. I plan to have the tyres fitted this weekend so will have a go at fitting them to the car in the coming weeks.

I have to admit to some trepidation of encountering rubbing issues but i have been assured by the previous owner that 12mm spacers should work fine and worse case i may to have dial in some additional camber on the rear arms. The wheels have custom hub centres for the E46.

I currently run -3.2 at the front and -1.6 at the rear, and normally drive with DSC in M Track at the Ring but would be happy with it fully off in the dry if needs be.

I'll keep you all updated with the BBS saga as i go...
