depending on how badly abused the old discs are, I'd soak the bolts in penetrating fluid for a couple of days, last time I changed mine, a few of the bolts sheared they were so tight.

new bolts are only tightened up a gnats worth too (14nm IIRC)

I'd put new pads in with your new discs, then as they wear down use up the used ones you have.

RS29's are a really good pad, tho a bit dusty and squealy around town, but their performance makes up for it, I loved them in my old AP's.

You dont need specialist tools per se, when you're taking your old discs off it's very easy to round out the old disc locating screws, they should only be done up pinch tight, make sure the torx drive head is securely in and not at a angle before you undo.

I did assuming your mate Dave is the Dave I bought them off! Were they red? What kind of condition were the calipers in when you sold them?
I should hopefully have them tomorrow or Monday. I have limited tools and space (red no garage) available so might be better sending the discs off to get replaced.
Maybe Questmead or Simpsons offer this service?
Anyone painted their red APs black?

Thought you might have, yeah it will be the same Dave, he's a top bloke, are you the fella in Ireland?

Calipers were in good condition, I think you'll be getting 2-3 sets of used Ferodo DS2500 pads with it all.

You got them at a good price, even if you do have to get new discs

Was going to have them myself, but couldn't justify my new car & 100 cell cats in the same month lol

new bolts all round, low Nm torque wrench (14Nm), loads of WD40, a well fitting spanner and some patience,

Fit new pads onto new discs, but keep the old ones for use after the disc is worn (you can even them up with some sand paper later on)

BED THEM IN PROPERLY AS INSTRUCTIONS and dont use them on track or to bed in with DS2500

Yup, I'm in Belfast. David is a top bloke and I did get them at a good price. Would have preferred black as I will have the standard rears with PF pads until I track down a set of AP rears. My car is Silver Grey and I'm not sure red is for me! Can't complain though at the price
I bought a set of K Sports (on an impulse) but never fitted them. Sold them on as I really should have bought APs from the start.

+1 and don't use DS2500 on track, as they leave deposits on your lovely new disc's and fook them

Hi,

Once bedded in properly to get the best from them
take them through a full heat
cycle and get them really, really hot
almost to the point of glowing, and then just
let them sit, and cool down.

They should have a blue 'heat' colouring
at the belles end etc. after this.

This can cause Pad residue to run down
which when cool you need to clean off.
