lo, I wish, he's only bought wheels off me the git
As regards the CF bonnet, yes in terms of weight saving its pointless, it weighs the same as the stock one near as dammit, but the gains from engine bay temps being reduced via the venting are certainly worth it. Think of it, any kind if vent is going to create drag so race teams think long and hard before they do it, especially on something as aerodynamically important as the bonnet. However engine bay temps for M3's (and CSl's) especially on track can get bloody high, we advise people to op the bonnet after a long session on track to help. The vents on the GTR bonnet (it is a replica of those used on the M3 GTR's) do indeed wick heat away with great effect. By all means buy one for looks, or engine bay heat dissipation but not for weight.....for that you'd need to buy one of our new race bonnets....vented and weigh 2.2kg's but they are race items only, no good for a road car. |

Do'h, I pressumed his toys were all from you cos hey came at similar times.
I can imagine the bonnet vents work wonders for bay temp. Id just prefer a more OEM look. |

There you have it..thanks for clearing that up Thorney. Would imagine then if you buy the CF bonnet for it's looks on the road it would lower fuel ecomony beacause of the extra drag...or this a bit extreme.

Same, think you feel better knowing you're the only one who is abusing it! Just like you wouldn't want a missus who has been the village bike
