I expect there are good ones out there, but ( not a comment aimed at you ) most CSL owners actually use them for what they were designed for thankfully, and ive not seen ANY that are show or garage queens, also to bear in mind, not many want to part with them unless they really need too, you will pay big money for a mint / low money .. fact.
Good luck on your continued search

Be patient Steve after all you are looking for a RARE car in the WRONG I mean RARE colour (SB being 3 times rarer then SG) Also, it'll be silly to turn down a good car with stone chips on in as they are VERY common on CSLs that are in regular use + SB will show stone chip much easier then SG Buy the CSL on good mechanical condition and impeccable service history. A rough diamond is always 100 times better then a shiny turd and remember, good things come to those who wait

Cheers guys............
The search continues, the car does not have to be mint but clean and tidy at least. Steve |

What you want is out there, just not at the price you want to pay I'd guess ;-)
I picked up Brians CSL for £22k. It was a fair price tbh. front and rear brakes completely knackered steering wheel needs retrimming needed a wishbone arm, door lock, powersteering pipe, new track rod ends front and rear bumpers have been resprayed, front needs redoing wheels needed a refurb tyres were wrong size, bit naff bodywork needed lots of TLC no moans or gripes. Brian knew what he was selling, I knew what I was buying and the price reflected all of this. We're both happy BUT I've sorted the above (short of the bumper respray - in two minds cos its a track car) and the car is now a very fine example indeed. I think I could get £25k for it and would make money on the overall spend. So don't be put off by bits which need doing. Provided the metal bodywork is all sound bumpers can be resprayed, the roof/body can be restored with a machine polisher and effort and mechanicals can be fixed.. |

That is very true, if people are willing to look beyond some of these bits then I'm sure there are some very 'cheap' CSL's out there!
