Hi mate, welcome to the forum, your making the right choice!

Mine has become a bit of an all rounder now, sometimes gets used for work but still does trackdays and fast road use, you can't use it on very short trips though, I was only doing 2 miles to work and 2 miles back everyday and the car hated it, it was killing it so it needs a good run and to stretch its legs!

They will take pretty much anything you throw at them though!

Welcome

Mine is solely a weekend/Ring/track toy but i still manage to cover 10k miles per year.

I used it as an everyday car for the first year that i had it and i must say the CSL copes admirably in such a role

Cheers guys for the welcome & the replies

I have a e46 m3 so im not that far behind..lol

Love it everytime i get into it and go for a blast

The only thing thats putting me off the csl is the SMG gearbox, my m3 is a manual and have always had manual cars.

When i was looking at M3s i did have a playabout with the SMG box but wasnt too keen on it., but in the CSL i assume it must be a beast

We shall see is all i can say for now

Cheers

I was the same as you when looking with reference to the SMG box - i hated it!

But when you test drive a CSL you NEED to have it so the SMG has to be accepted! It took me all of a week or so to get used to it though and love it now - especially on track

I was in the EXACT same position as you last December mate, had a Steel Grey Manual E46 M3, loved it but wanted something a little more special, I looked at Noble's, top end Evo's, top spec Subaru's but kept getting drawn back to a CSL

I bought mine blind from a high spec car dealer, it was delivered about 2 weeks before xmas and I'd only ever seen it online, the first time I drove it I loved it and the SMG has been perfect! Don't worry about it, do it and you won't look back, trust me
