Have to agree that the organisation was pretty poor, and it wasn't open pits, it was sessioned. Not only that but when I booked and another guy I know booked we weren't able to book second drivers and there was a message saying you pay for them on the day only and organise that, and we turned up and were told at 4:30 that no further 2nd drivers were allowed as it was fully booked, there should have been a message on the website informing people of that, had it been a full day it would have been more annoying.
That being said, we had a great time still, and towards the end got some great laps in, particularly the last 2 sessions that were quieter too. Shame about it being red flagged right at the end. |

Morning guy's, I would have posted last night but didn't get in until gone midnight! Good to meet you all properly this time and even better going for a swift pint at the pub afterwards! Thanks Tino
As for Brands it's a great little circuit, a few lines are hard to get the hang of having not done it before but was getting there when we got the chance to get some decent laps in! It is a shame the marshalling and organisation was shite, the first corner of the first lap a marshall had a blue flag out when in the briefing 5 minutes beforehand we were all told they wouldn't use them! Never mind, I definately enjoyed the day (evening) and would do it again, I managed to get a good few sessions in and it was my first track day on Cups too! Once I'd got the tyre pressure's right they were excellent, WAY better than normal PS2's! Have you got anymore though Shimmy as these are going to be properly dead soon if they arn't already! Thanks to Matt for a passenger session, very impressed with his car Oh and Alex (KK) I think we should all write a disgruntled letter to brands!

Sorry Dan I am Cupless in 19 inches now except for the two tyres where I grow my new potatoes.
Don't forget the TD was I think an Easytrack evening but would be Marshalled by MSV as they own the track.

The blue flag waiving was really funny. AFter that long chat about not using them and black flagging them, all I could see whilst Q'ing up was the marshall waiving the blue flag non-stop for over a minute so was that to everyone?
Also I was sure it was advertised as open pit lane see link http://www.easytrack.co.uk/product/B...OKED_CBH150610 I've never been to a sessioned TD and if that's what they do I'll NEVER book one, they let me out twice only to pull everybody in within a single lap! They don't seem to have an email address only a contact form I have put the link below http://www.easytrack.co.uk/frontend/contactUs Rich was right it was so bizzar and disjointed I let me car cool down whilst waiting in line to go out, so much for it being a social they really screwed it up |

Donington used to run their on sessioned days and they were cheap and could be great fun as long as no red flags
the good thing was you always went out with your mates and therefore had a good session on track trying to do each other into Redgate! but as soon as you get a slow car in your group or red flags they are wank!

It was definately advertised as an open pitlane trackday evening Eric, I don't and won't booked sessioned days for the exact reason Shimmy has said about, if you get a red flag your stuffed and lose that session!

In general was a great evening and enjoyed the company more than the OPL organisation, it was a complete balls up! Already said above, so won't go into detail again. Got back just after 12.30 with another fuel stop and damn it hurt this morning getting up early! Was good to get a propa chat after with some great food and beer, (Rich). Although I think the other tables thought they were in for a nice quiet evening... No chance! Barrrrhhhh!!!
I have however managed to compose a letter that I am yet to finish off and happy for you guys to give it the once over, making sure nothing has been forgoten? I may need your details off you to Inc, making them aware of who attended. Last edited by karbonkid; 16-06-2010 at 11:50 AM. |
