Default A CSL and after that?

I have my csl i am real happy with it. It s a dream car to drive on the limit. But this car does have some age under its belt. And to put it again full year on track i think the csl might get a little tired. Clutch slurr it already has etc etc.

I am running with the idea to get me secondhand 997 GT3 next because bmw does have nothing to offer. I rather have a new CSL.

Option GTS is there but price is overdone. I think if you spend that kind of money a 3.8 GT3 RS would be a better choice.

How are you guys thinking about a next car. What route are the most guys going.

I have had an e90 M3 and it s a heavy and to far off a fun car like a csl or gt3 is. So i am real curious about youre choices after the csl.

This was exactly my thinking in the summer of 2008, first ring trip of the year and mind made up white 997 GT3 Clubsport with matt black wheels please....then the recession.

I would also like to think a GTS would be on the radar but i would not pay anymore than i did originally for my CSL in early 2004, i cant justify/afford that amount on a car that is only used on track. As much as i love M cars though I honestly believe people will still modify a GTS to "make up" the difference to a GT3, therfore do i want fork out another 10k plus on top of the likely 60k plus for a used one?? err no.

My 2 year plan is keep the CSL for track (just spent a fortune on it so i know its solid), swap the 5 series for a 335d touring (work/dog) and get the girlfriend a new car OR let her get a new car and I get an RS6 avant

GTR or R8.

BMW have very little on the radar that justifies a move up and away from either a CSL or an E92 M3 imo.

So long as the CSL is kept well serviced and any worn parts replaced - it should keep going for a long long time. There is nothing on the market that offers the same performance to cost ratio IMO. I drove mine at weekend for the first time since it went into winter storage in September - reminded me why I kept it, what brilliant car! Makes my RS4 feel a bit sluggish to be honest.
