Does a respray get rid of all and any stonechips?

Care to tell me how much it cost for each bit? (pm if you prefer)

Looks great! That'ss what I would want to do before I wrap to shield it.

Painting any panel with damage such as chips or deep scratches etc should effectively remove any imperfections if done properly!

I would wrap the car to drag the tired paint on for another year or two though, I couldn't cover up a spanking new paint job!

Mind you, I've heard some horror stories about the wrap pulling off fresh paint, perhaps Lawsy can confirm?

You are right in that a wrap can cause damage to freshly/poorly painted cars. But most of the time its due to poor removal.

Patience will be paramount, as well as heat. My wrapper has fitted and removed his wrap on his car many, many times with no issues.

I think that swift is referring to armourfend type wrap that is clear so will show up chips etc.

Fair enough then mate, I wish I'd got my front bumper and maybe even arches done in ventrueshield or something similar!

I've been told 6 years is the maximum you should leave the film on before it goes hard and becomes difficult to remove.

It comes down to how well the paint job was done in the first place that dictates if the film will remove paint with it.

You also peel the film off not against the paint, but rather along the paint - i.e. stretching the film so that it loses its ability to cling to the surface - allows for easy removal without resorting to heat (heat can damage paint also if not used correctly).

Cheers Dan

Cos im fussy i think!

She was lurvelly anyway but loaded with the usual light chips on the front, but there were two or three chips up the A pillars.
Starts with a bumper paint but then escalates into madness LOL!

The screen (which was original)had no major chips but thousands of little ones so in for the penny i spose!

Down on the lower rear quarter infront of the arch had a smart repair at some stage & was shadey in the sun!
Nothing bad at all really

you got to love a drop of fresh silver grey!

Cant wait to see the front of the car chipless.......................................... ..............For a day at least!
